NW European’s Racecar is underway! ::
Bryan and Nick got started tearing down the donor car for the new race car. The donor, a ‘74 BMW 2002, had a built M10 with 12:1 compression pistons, Weber side draft carbs, MSD ignition, H&R springs, Bilstien shocks, and lots of other goodies. The task was to swap everything from this car over to the new car, which is a ‘68 2002. Fresh from the paint shop, the ‘68 has wide Alpina box fenders, round tail lights, and bright orange Alpina paint scheme. Ron has been working on the new car which is fuel injected with Weber throttle bodies and a Mega Squirt management system w/ crank-fire ignition. The drive train consists a 228mm S14 clutch assembly, a 5sp OD transmission and a 3.91 LSD. Front brakes are from the E12 528i w/ vented rotors and rears are the larger 320i drums with boxed trailing arms. Tires are 10” wide Hoosiers on 14” Panasports.
